Drag Me to Hell - the Experience - the Blog

My day began on a bus into Manhattan, only to realize in the Lincoln Tunnel that I didn’t want to deal with New York, and so stayed on said bus on its return trip home. It ended with the scent of a stranger’s vagina wafting at me in a crowded New Jersey movie theater.

One lesson I am unable to learn in life is that if you wish to enjoy anything, don’t do it in public. Music, movies, masturbation… all these things go from ‘pretty cool concepts’ to ‘what the fuck is the point of this’ when partaken-in around others. That said, I thought it would be awesome to see ‘UP’ 3-D alone at the 11 PM showing. It was sold out when I got there (along with almost every other movie), and so I resigned myself to see ‘Drag Me to Hell’ with the friends I actually drove in with.

inFamous unReview

At WorldDominationPlan we don’t review games. This is mostly due to the fact that we don’t post anything at all, but also partly because I find “criticism” of any entertainment mainly the past time of idiots and assholes (as much as I do enjoy and take part in it). I could get deeper into the philosophy behind this and try to define the shaky lines between useless opinion and thought-provoking or informative discussion, but that should be saved for another post titled “REVIEW Review”. So on that note, let’s review inFamous!

Starcraft Amateur Hour - Episode 3

(My Vimeo account has been banned. Supposedly you can’t upload any video footage of any video game. Finding a new hosting solution and will repost shortly).

A quick and informative Terran v Protoss matchup. Some general tips for low-level players.

Starcraft Amateur Hour - Zerg v Terran

Here’s a entertaining quick matchup between me (Gunsakimbo) and Gatekeeper.   Shoutcasted by Negative_Suns.  Some mic distortion, and replay accidentally not at full speed, but very entertaining nonetheless.

Nintendo DSi

It was an impulse buy.  Sure, I happened to have my DS Lite  neatly prepared for trade-in when I walked into Gamestop, but I was only committed to getting angry at the words “Did you pre-order?”.  Instead, the clerk gave me $70 for my old DS Lite and handed me a brand new DSi for only $100.  It would’ve been cheaper to just get angry.. and probably more rewarding in the end.

Web Surfing - but no video :(

Cool new features include: Sturdier feel.  Nicer matte texture.  Two cameras.  Internet browser (that actually works decently… except there is NO VIDEO SUPPORT).  Buy and download games from DSi Ware Shop.  SD card support (meaning hopefully people will find ways to crack the DSi for custom non-Nintendo software).  Plays AAC music files.  (Kinda) record and edit music files.  Faster processor and more Ram than the DS Lite meaning possibly better looking and smoother games.

What’s not so cool: NO VIDEO in internet browser (meaning no starcraft shoutcasts on the go).  DSi Ware shop currently has 5 games that look like they all suck.  Plays AAC files and not mp3.  Has faster processor and more ram which will most likely never be utilized by Nintendo because that’s how they roll.

The browser justified most of my purchase, because the thought of checking email in a hotel or cafe is sadly exciting to me.  However, an iPhone/iPod Touch can do the same thing and probably much better… plus has a whole realm of applications that don’t have to be approved by the backwards heads at Nintendo.  But you can’t buy and never get around to playing Dragon Quest on an Apple device (yet), so the DSi, for the time-being, wins out.
